CLEANING CHEMICALSRestore the cleanliness of compatible surfaces and equipment with AGAR Acid Wash 5L, a highly concentrated, acid-based cleaner developed to dissolve stubborn rust, mineral scale and lime deposits. Its specialised formulation also contains detergent to remove oil contamination from surfaces being treated, providing an effective solution for demanding descaling and restoration tasks.
Dishwashing machines, hot-water urns and other equipment can accumulate mineral deposits over time, affecting cleanliness and maintenance efficiency. Similarly, newly installed ceramic tiles and brickwork can retain excess grout or mortar after construction. AGAR Acid Wash helps dissolve these unwanted deposits, making them easier to remove through appropriate cleaning and rinsing procedures.
AGAR Acid Wash is designed for professional maintenance tasks where rust, lime and scale need to be dissolved rather than simply wiped away.
Typical applications include:
| Application | Recommended Method |
|---|---|
| Rust and scale removal | 1 part product to up to 6 parts water |
| Immersion derusting | 1 part product to up to 11 parts water |
| Ceramic tile grout removal | 1 part product to up to 11 parts water |
| Hot-water urn descaling | Use the equipment-specific instructions |
| Food-processing CIP | 5 mL per litre of hot water |
Always add the acid product to water, never water to the acid. Use an acid-resistant container, follow the relevant application instructions and rinse thoroughly after treatment. Food-contact surfaces must be rinsed with potable water after cleaning.

AGAR Acid Wash is used to remove cement splashes, mineral deposits, rust stains and grout haze from brick, concrete, tiles and masonry surfaces.
Mineral deposits, cement residues, and lime-based contamination are chemically dissolved by acidic cleaners, whereas standard detergents are generally ineffective against these types of deposits.
Yes. The acidic formulation effectively dissolves lime scale, calcium deposits and mineral build-up on hard surfaces.
