Actichem Grout Restore 20 Acidic

Professional 20% Phosphoric Acid Cleaner for Tile & Grout Restoration

Actichem Grout Restore 20 is a professional phosphoric acid-based restoration cleaner formulated to remove stubborn cement and grout residues, mineral scale, efflorescence, rust, soap scum and heavy inorganic build-up from suitable hard surfaces. Containing 20% active phosphoric acid, the detergent-boosted formulation combines acidic cleaning power with penetrating agents to help break down difficult deposits during professional restoration and builders-clean applications.

Designed specifically as a grout specialist, Grout Restore 20 is particularly useful where ordinary maintenance detergents cannot effectively remove embedded mineral contamination, grout smear or cement residues. It can also be used to prepare grout surfaces before sealing, helping professional cleaners achieve a cleaner and more suitable substrate for subsequent treatment.

⚡ Powerful Phosphoric Acid Cleaning Technology

The 20% phosphoric acid formulation provides controlled acidic action against inorganic deposits that commonly accumulate on tiles, grout and other suitable hard surfaces. Its penetrating chemistry helps loosen stubborn scale, cement residues and other build-up, while the detergent-boosted formulation supports broader cleaning performance.

How to Use

  1. Prepare the surface: Remove loose dirt, dust, debris and surface contamination. Protect adjacent acid-sensitive materials and metals.
  2. Pre-test: Test the product on a small, inconspicuous area to confirm surface compatibility.
  3. Dilute as required: Adjust the dilution according to the level of contamination and the manufacturer’s recommendations. Use stronger concentrations for heavy deposits and more diluted solutions for lighter cleaning.
  4. Apply: Apply the diluted solution evenly to the affected area using a suitable mop, brush, applicator or sprayer.
  5. Allow contact time: Allow sufficient time for the acidic solution to react with the deposits, but do not allow the product to dry on the surface.
  6. Agitate: Scrub with a suitable brush or pad to help loosen stubborn grout, mineral and cement residues.
  7. Rinse thoroughly: Recover the loosened contamination and rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water.
  8. Repeat if necessary: For severe build-up, repeat the application rather than allowing the product to remain on the surface for an extended period.
  9. Final inspection: Check the surface and ensure all acidic residue has been completely removed.
  10. Safety: Wear appropriate PPE, including chemical-resistant gloves and eye/face protection. Always follow the current Actichem label, PDS and SDS before use.

Important: Grout Restore 20 is an acidic product. Do not use it on acid-sensitive materials such as marble, limestone, terrazzo, engineered stone or unsuitable granite, and avoid contact with metals. Never mix it with chlorine/bleach or other incompatible chemicals.
