Its powerful acidic action helps dissolve hardened cementitious deposits and mineral contamination, making it easier to remove concrete splashes, mortar residues and cement dust from suitable hard surfaces and equipment.
CM-X is based on an organic-salt complex that AGAR describes as milder than straight hydrochloric acid. This provides substantially lower odour and fumes while retaining sufficient acid reserves to continue reacting with concrete and lime deposits.
The product works by dissolving the lime component of concrete, converting it into water-soluble salts that can subsequently be washed away. Its detergent action also allows it to work on some oily surfaces, while corrosion inhibitors help reduce attack on suitable bare iron and steel.

AGAR specifically identifies CM-X for concrete mixing equipment and machinery, as well as suitable plastics, paintwork and acid-resistant hard surfaces.
CM-X is an acidic concrete remover and must be used only on compatible materials. AGAR states that it should not be used on marble, terrazzo, laminates or other acid-sensitive surfaces, and should not be applied to zinc or aluminium, particularly at high temperatures.
For ceramic tiles, slate, terracotta and brickwork, AGAR specifies dilution to at least 1:5. Always pre-test the surface before treatment.
