CLEANING MACHINERYAGAR FIRST BASE is a professional-grade, water-based acrylic floor sealer and base-coat polish designed to protect porous flooring and create a smooth foundation for subsequent floor finishes. Its clear, tough acrylic film penetrates the surface pores, helping prevent dirt and spillages from entering the floor while reducing dust rising from concrete.
Ideal for commercial cleaning contractors, facility managers, schools, offices, food-storage facilities and other professional environments, FIRST BASE provides a practical solution for preparing and protecting compatible flooring. Its excellent adhesion helps create an even base for compatible finishing products, improving the durability of the overall floor coating system.
Suitable for vinyl, timber, terrazzo, porous stone and concrete floors, FIRST BASE offers resistance to traffic wear, spillages, oils and petrol. Its water-based formulation is non-flammable, has low odour and offers high UV resistance, making it suitable for both indoor and selected outdoor applications. However, it is not suitable for outdoor timber decks exposed to rain.
Available in 5L and 20L containers, AGAR FIRST BASE provides flexible pack sizes for small maintenance jobs and larger commercial floor-sealing projects.

Suitable for concrete floors, timber flooring, terrazzo, vinyl and porous natural stone in commercial buildings, schools, offices, warehouses and food-storage areas.
Ensure the floor is clean, completely dry and free from oil, grease, wax and loose material. Apply FIRST BASE evenly using a suitable mop, brush, short-nap roller or paint pad. Apply one coat to low-porosity floors or two coats to porous floors, allowing approximately one hour between coats. Allow 2–3 hours before light traffic and 12–24 hours before heavy traffic.
FIRST BASE is not a floor stripper and is not buffable. For additional protection and a high-gloss, buffable finish, compatible topcoats include AGAR 3D-GLOSS, TUFF GLOSS and DURO.
⚠️ Important: Acrylic sealers may not adhere to non-porous ceramic or porcelain tiles. Test adhesion before application. Allow new concrete to cure for at least 28 days before sealing.

How to Use:
1. Read the product label and current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
2. Ensure the floor is clean, unpainted and free from oil, grease, dirt, dust and loose material.
3. Remove formwork oils and other contaminants from concrete before application.
4. Clean the floor using a suitable AGAR detergent if necessary.
5. Strip timber floors free from wax and acrylic polish. Fully strip and rinse terrazzo floors before sealing.
6. Remove mould, algae and fungi from old concrete using a suitable treatment, following the product instructions, then rinse thoroughly.
7. Allow new concrete to cure for at least 28 days before sealing.
8. Ensure the floor is completely dry before applying FIRST BASE. Damp floors may cause a cloudy finish and poor adhesion.
9. Apply FIRST BASE evenly using a suitable brush, short-nap roller, paint pad or string mop. A polish applicator may be used on terrazzo and vinyl.
10. Do not pour the product directly onto concrete. Apply a generous, even coating while avoiding puddles and bubbles.
11. Apply one coat to low-porosity floors or two coats to porous floors.
12. Allow the first coat to become touch-dry and leave an additional 15 minutes before recoating. Allow approximately one hour between coats and ensure the surface is tack-free before applying another coat.
13. For additional protection and a buffable finish on indoor floors, apply two coats of a compatible topcoat such as AGAR 3D-GLOSS or TUFF-GLOSS, following its product instructions. DURO is another compatible topcoat option.
14. Allow 2–3 hours before light traffic and 12–24 hours before heavy traffic.
15. Do not apply when the floor temperature is 10°C or below.
16. For very smooth concrete, follow the manufacturer's surface-preparation instructions. Any acid etching should be performed by trained personnel using appropriate protective equipment.
17. Do not apply directly over existing polish. FIRST BASE is intended for direct contact with the prepared bare floor surface.
18. Acrylic sealers may not adhere to non-porous ceramic or porcelain tiles. Test adhesion on a small area before treating the entire floor.
