ELKA lists applications including washrooms, offices, food halls, restaurants, schools and councils. The blue colour can also be used to visually distinguish different waste streams, with ELKA noting its use for differentiating kitchen waste from office waste.

For more demanding applications, the ELKA 75L Black Heavy Duty Garbage Bag (EK75HD) is manufactured from 100% virgin HDPE/LDPE and measures 920 × 760 mm. At 22 microns, it provides a thicker and stronger construction than the blue variant. ELKA describes this bag as suitable for mid-heavy weight operations in kitchens, restaurants, clubs, hotels and councils, with a strong star seal designed for bulky waste requirements.

Both variants use virgin plastic material. ELKA explains that virgin material provides consistent product quality, durability and tear resistance, while allowing bags to be manufactured at lower thicknesses than may otherwise be required.
