AGAR Florprep is a concentrated scrub-back detergent specifically designed to clean and cut back existing water-based acrylic floor-sealer films before fresh polish is applied. It removes built-up dirt, spillages and discoloured polish, leaving a cleaner, smoother base for recoating. Used between recoating cycles, Florprep can extend the time before a complete strip is needed, helping reduce labour, chemical consumption and waste solution.
During normal use, floor sealer topcoats may become scratched, dirty or discoloured. Florprep loosens these worn layers while its surfactants attack dirt and fatty soil, and its soil-suspending ingredients help keep loosened contamination in the cleaning solution for removal. Its low-foaming action makes it suitable for controlled mechanical scrubbing, and the formula is designed to rinse freely from the treated floor.
Florprep is intended for floors protected with AGAR water-based acrylic floor sealers that are due for recoating. The underlying flooring material can vary, provided the existing sealer remains intact and is compatible with the new finish. Extra care is essential on timber floors: do not flood or over-wet the surface, as excessive moisture can cause swelling and permanent damage.
The level of cut-back can be adjusted to match the floor’s condition by changing the dilution and scrub pad. Use 1 part Florprep in 40 parts water for light scrubbing with a red or blue pad; 1:30 for moderate scrubbing with a blue or green pad; and 1:20 for heavy scrubbing with a black pad. This lets cleaning teams remove worn surface layers without automatically carrying out a complete strip.
Florprep is a cut-back detergent, not a pH-neutralising rinse; its strong alkalinity and specific application method should be considered when planning floor restoration.

1. Read the product label and current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
2. Wear chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing and appropriate eye or face protection. The concentrate is corrosive and can cause severe skin burns and eye damage.
3. Sweep up loose dust and dry soil, and remove spillages before beginning the cut-back process.
4. For light scrubbing, dilute 1 part Florprep in 40 parts water and use a red or blue floor pad.
5. For moderate scrubbing, dilute 1 part Florprep in 30 parts water and use a blue or green floor pad.
6. For heavy scrubbing, dilute 1 part Florprep in 20 parts water and use a black floor pad.
7. Apply the prepared solution evenly over a manageable floor section using a mop, swing buffer or compatible automatic floor scrubber.
8. Scrub the floor evenly to loosen discoloured sealer films and embedded dirt. Adjust the dilution and pad according to the condition of the floor.
9. With an automatic scrubber, apply sufficient solution to the floor. For heavier cut-back work, the solution can be laid down first and collected after scrubbing, following the equipment instructions.
10. Collect the dirty solution containing removed polish and soilage using the appropriate recovery method.
11. Rinse the floor thoroughly to remove all remaining detergent, dirt and loosened polish before applying fresh sealer.
12. Do not flood timber floors, as excessive moisture can cause swelling and permanent damage.
